​How does the Club work?

Every two months, you'll receive a carefully selected book at your doorstep, plus a postcard and a bookmark specially designed by a Latin American artist. You'll have access to our website's dedicated section and be able to join online and/or in-person meetings. In short: we´ll help you discover incredible books and become part of a community of people who love Spanish.

How, when, and where are the virtual meetings?

The virtual meetings are held every two months and you can join from anywhere in the world. In most cases, the authors participate, chatting with us in a warm and informal setting. Everyone is welcome to ask their own questions and make comments (or simply listen, if that's what you prefer). We also occasionally hold meetings without the authors, for members to chat amongst themselves. Meetings tend to be on Thursdays at 5:00 PM PST, although this can vary.

When will I receive the first book?

As soon as your membership is paid for, we'll send you the book for the current month, which takes approximately one week to arrive. You can join the meetings at any time, even if you couldn't read the book!

Can I return a book?

We don't currently have a return policy. We trust you'll enjoy the quality and diversity of the books we've selected and will want to keep them forever in your libraries (or share them with friends).

How do you choose the books?

We believe that Latin America has much to say about today's world, and we seek out texts that allow us to discover the unique voices of each region. We are interested in a wide variety of topics and writing styles. We prioritize the quality of the writing and, whenever possible, choose independent publishers.

How, when, and where are the in-person meetings?

In-person meetings are organized in cities that have a coordinator. Currently: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York. Dates and times are arranged via WhatsApp, and the meetings are usually held in public spaces such as cafes or, in the summer, a park. They are extraordinary opportunities to make new friends!

Can I join even if I don't live in the United States?

We would love to reach everyone with our books, but for now, we can only ship within the country.

Is renewal automatic?

Yes, but you can cancel anytime.

​What contents will I find in the members only section?

You'll find contextual information that helps you better understand the richness of each book, like a complete review, biographical information, thematic notes, colorful tidbits and links to videos or other complementary articles. You'll also have access to our entire library, so you can always look up information on previous books. You can also visit the gallery featuring the visual artists who have participated in the Club.

What level of Spanish do I need to enjoy the Club?

For now, we read books designed for advanced readers, and our conversations are entirely in Spanish. We welcome people of all levels who are eager to learn and challenge themselves. If you are not sure if you'll fit in, please write to us and we'll be happy to invite you to try out a meeting.
